Mini Superdrug haul - CoLab/Zoella Beauty

Mini Superdrug haul - CoLab and Zoella Beauty.

Just a quick post on a few items that I picked up from Superdrug recently.
I'm not very good at describing scents, so please excuse that.

I was in need of a new dry shampoo, I had been using a cheap one from a local poundstore, it help with oils but didn't have a nice scent and was useless for volume. Id heard of CoLab shampoos through Zoella on her vlogging channel MoreZoella, as she attended the launch of her friend 'A model Recommends' products. I hopped over the Superdrug website, and they are currently 1/3 off so I decided to get a couple to try, They are very reasonably priced (currently £2.32 for 200ml) so I picked up Rio and London. Rio has a very tropical scent, and London is a bit more classic, and I love them both.

While I was there, I thought Id grab a couple of products from Zoellas new beauty range, Ive follwed Zoella on youtube for some time now, and its great seeing her do so well.

I'm a sucker for a good candle, and I love Zoes taste, so thought Id check out her candle, Lets Glow. It is meant to have relaxing scents, with vanilla and floral tones. I currently have a few candles on the go, so I have not tried it yet, but I'm sure it will be next in line.

I also wanted to try Soak Opera. it is a bath soak and shower cream, which is handy as I cant always have baths so being able to use it as a shower cream is a big plus. it has a lovely floral scent.

All the items I bought, and more of the range are available in most Superdrug stores and online at superdrug.com.

Small Lush Haul - Halloween/Christmas 2014

Small Lush Haul - Halloween/Christmas 2014

I somehow ended up on the Lush website recently. I love visiting their shops and browsing online, but this time, a few items slipped into my  basket, and they arrived today. They have just release their holiday products for 2014, and there are a few new items which I would like to try. I try and save my Lush shopping for the boxing day sale, as that's the only time of year they have any sales, but I couldn't resist.

Here's a breakdown of what I got.

Fairy Ring Soap.
This grounding, 100% palm-free soap is made with fresh mushrooms to get you back to nature. Jasmine absolute, ylang ylang and vetivert oils invoke feelings of mystical joy...the scent will take you to the bottom of the garden and away with the fairies. Shiitake mushrooms are filled with nutrients, are said to improve blood circulation and are antibacterial.

Baked Alaska Soap
Based on a giant snowball, this zesty soap reveals it true colours when sliced. A fresh and uplifting marriage of organic lemon myrtle, grapefruit and stress-relieving ylang ylang oil make for a sweet and refreshing blast from head to toe.

Reindeer Rock Soap
This sparkling, reindeer-embossed soap is a berrylicious treat made from a dried lingonberry infusion. The delicate mix of uplifting and cleansing bergamot oil fuses with calming and toning cypress to leave you feeling refreshed, comforted and ready for the Christmas rush.

Hot Toddy Shower Gel

With all the spice of a Christmas market, this deep red shimmering shower gel is sure to blow away the bah humbugs. Laced with softening seaweed, fresh ginger, cinnamon leaf oil and cleansing lemon oil, this will warm up even the chilliest of days and bring a sparkle to your shower.

Gold Fun
Have some fun with this limited edition golden version of our multi-purpose playful wash, here especially for Christmas. Glimmering gold Fun can be a soap, shampoo, a bubble bath or moulded into shimmering shapes. With a toffee-sweet, comforting and cheerful fragrance it shares with Honey I Washed the Kids, bath time will never be boring again.

Snowman Kit Fun
Build your own snowman in the bath with our festive Fun kit. Can anyone smell carrots? This is fraganced with a refreshing and sweet blend of buchu, bergamot and Sicilian lemon essential oils. Mould the white, orange, and black pieces into a snowman and then use it as a bubble
bar, soap or shampoo when you've finished playing with him.

Butterbear Bath Bomb
Cocoa butter creates a creamy soft bath that is great for nourishing and protecting your skin, with the same vanilla-like fragrance as Butterball bath bomb. Moulded into a friendly and sweet-smelling bear, this is sure to be a winner with little and big kids alike!

I also got a few samples (Cleanser, Eye Cream and Moisturiser)

I was going to buy some Snowfairy, its the typical Lush must have and always sells out, but I found some I got last year and they have pretty good use by dates on them, so it will tide me over until either the next sale or until I give in and buy some.

All products are currently available in Lush stores and online. There are many other exclusive products for the holidays, including bath bombs, bath melts, shower gels, soaps and more. That is my cue to go and try some of these amazing smelling products.

May and June Favourites

May and June Favourites.

I didn't have many favourites in May so I decided to wait and combine it with June's, so here's the various things I've enjoyed over the last 2 months.

General
Sony Headphones MDR_ZX100W in white.- I'm always listening to music on my phone/iPod and I usually use the small earbuds that came with my iPhone 5, but after a couple of songs the started to feel quite uncomfortable, so I decided to try so headband style headphones, and the Sony ones I bought are brilliant. they were only £10 from Amazon and I think that's a bargain. The quality is good and I couldn't hear any room noise while wearing them.

Make-up/Skincare
The Body shop Vitamin E face cream, a lovely light weight, non greasy cream, just what I need in these warm months,
I've not been wearing any make-up recently, so I've not got any favourites in that department.

Movie.
The Hunger Games - Catching Fire. I know the film has been out for quite some times now, but I have only just got round to borrowing the DVD off my sister. I read the books before the first film was released to DVD so I know the storyline, but I'm always interested to see how the film compares to the book, and in this case they have done it justice. Great film, plenty of action, cant wait for Mockingjay later in the year

Books
The Arotas Trilogy - I'm on the second book now, Reckoning. It's a story of humans and Vampires, their struggles as they try to discover prophecies and how they are all connected.  It's hard to describe it without giving too much away if you haven't read the first book. If you love vampire/mythical books, then this a trilogy you should read.

Music
Lilly Allen - Sheezus. I'm loving this album right now, No matter what mood I am in, there is always something fiiting on there. here's plenty of up beat tracks, smooth ones and more of dance song, its my go to album whether I'm in the car, shower or just doing the housework. love it!

Food/Drink
Terry's Chocolate Orange - I'm not really a chocolate fan, but after seeing them reduced in my Local Tesco I had to get one. I only ever see them out at Christmas time or if they bring out special ones for certain occasions so its not the sort of thing Id think of looking for. Mmmm, want more now.....

Robinsons Squashed - these small concentrate squeezable drinks are so handy. Its getting quite warm now so its essential to drink plenty, but water alone is boring, so I always carry one of these with me. A quick squeeze to a bottle of water turns it into a yummy squash drink. Flavour and hydration, perfect.
