Mini New Look haul and outfit of the day

Couple of items I picked up in New Look today and how I plan to wear them.

I've been after a check/plaid shirt for a few weeks now but have never been able to find one that fits or in the right colour. When I popped into New Look today, I found one :D it was on the sale rack and was the only one left. There were a few different ones on the full price racks but I wasn't keen on them so I was so pleased to find this one, and it was only £10. Its slightly too thick to wear on very hot days, but those are very rare in the UK, especially in Wales so I know I will get lots of use out of it. On warmer days I wont need tights, but I plan to wear it similar to how I have below, but with a better matching, plain top underneath. I've got various denim shorts that I can style with it, and I'm loving my Rocket Dog Thunder boots at the moment and this shirt will go with them very well.

The necklace is on a long small but chunky silver chain, with matching tassel on the bottom, and has gold details, there is a coin with a rose, broach with blue stone, a small heard and a square with clear stones. It is very casual and pretty, adding that extra bit of detail to an outfit. It was from new look and half price in the sale, making it a bargain at £2.25

VicTsing Waterproof Bluetooth Shower Speaker Review

I've wanted a radio for the shower for some time as I have been taking my iPod in there with me, which means wrapping it up to protect it from steam which results in poor sound quality. I was originally going to buy a simple waterproof radio but them I came across this product. At only £10 I thought it was a bargain. It arrived after about 10 days, which I was warned about on their shipping times. I charged it up which took approx an hour, it did say it could take up to 3 but maybe it is pre charged so didn't need the full charge. The instructions are in a small leaflet but being so simple, you don't need a big manual to set it up. Connecting it to my phone via Bluetooth took seconds and now automatically connect to it when I switch on Bluetooth on my phone. I has no issues with the sucker, it attached to the tile and stayed put, I did remove it to store afterwards so I can't say how long it would stay there if left in situe. Sound quality isn't amazing but perfectly good enough for in the shower. Overall, good item, easy to use and a good price.

I bought it from Amazon, but when I went to get the link, the price has gone up to £13 - £14 but they now have various colours available, I only had blue to choose from, but there is now, green, pink, blue, black and maybe others as it seems to change. The link to buy them is HERE

May Birchbox - Harper's Bazaar

I've tried 2 beauty boxes so far, and my most recent is the Birchbox.
I love the design of this months box, and it will be used again once empty for sure.

The inside of the boxes always look great, with so informative pamflet, price card and a lovely drawstring bag to hold the products. They have got the presentation spot on.

I have signed up for 6 months as it works out cheaper as you get a free box, and I also had a code to get a free Benafit Hoola bronzer, which I haven't received yet, hopefully it's being sent separate otherwise I'll have to get in contact with them. I'm not overly impressed with the contents of this months box, I'm sure to get use of the sample Benafit they're real mascara (full size value is £19.50), and the sample size Beauty Protector shampoo and conditioner (full size value £14 each). There is also a full size Soigné nail varnish in Persimmon which is a lovely bright orange colour (worth £11) I'm looking forward to trying the sample of Liz Earle Beauty Co cleanser, (fulle size value from £13.25) but I'll have to take care as I have very sensitive skin. There was also a small sample of Aromatherapy Associates bath and shower oil, which I will use but it's a bit too small to test properly, but then at £39 for a full size item, a small amount might got a long way.

First impressions of the look of the contents wasn't that great, but after looking at each item and reading about them and their values, the box has been worth it.
You can get more information on the products and purchase the full size items on hyper website https://birchbox.co.uk/box/

Or if you wish to subscribe it is £10 plus p+p https://birchbox.co.uk/subscribe

April Favourites

I've decided Its about time I should write a monthly favourites posts. I find things I like and then move on to try other things and I end up forgetting about the original one I liked so much, so if I write it down, I've got something to look back on and I can share with others.

Beauty.
I finally bought a Mac lipstick, and I absolutely love it. It's in the shade Viva Glam V and it's a pretty, natural looking colour. I also like the idea that the money goes to charity.

I bought an EOS lip balm as I've heard so many good things about them, and they are all true. Mine is a mint flavour and it's so moisturising, I know I'll repurchase it when it runs out, but I might try a different flavour next time. Bought from Naturismo.com

Hair.
My hair has been very dry lately after the regular bleaching so I've been trying to find products to help repair it. I've tried various argan oil treatments and they've worked well but I wanted to find a regular use shampoo and conditioner, I decided to try the Herbal Essences range and saw they have one called Hello Hydration and seeing as it's so affordable I decided to give it a try, and I'm so glad I did, it's amazing. It does remove some of the hair dye so I don't leave the shampoo on for too long, but it still works wonders and I will defiantly be repurchasing it again.

I don't like to wash my hair too often so dry shampoos are a godsend. they've have become more popular now and there are different brands, formulas and scents. My favourite one at the moment is the Batiste cherry, the smell is amazing and it works great. It does leave a white powder behind, but easily goes with gentle massaging.

Jewellery.
I decided to treat myself in April, and I bought some custom made earrings and a necklace from little doe. http://littledoestore.bigcartel.com/ she has many pieces available to sell, and if you spot something you like but you'd rather it was slightly different then you can get it custom made to be how you'd like.

Films.
I've not watched many films in April, but I finally watched Frozen. I loved it, highly recommend it to anyone. I'm more of an action/horror lover, but Frozen was a nice change and I enjoyed it.

TV.
Like a lot of people, I've been watching Game of Thrones. I only started watching it recently, so I had a lot of catching up to do, and this is what I spent a lot of April doing. I'm hooked. I'm up to date now, so I have the frustrating task of waiting for a new episode weekly. I'd like to read the books, as I much prefer to read the books before watching the film/tv series and I didn't this time and I regret it, but I will read them one day.

Fashion.
I'm addicted to buying from sheinside.com at the moment, every time I go in there I find something new. My favourite so wear is a pretty dress. The top half has a denim look, while the skirt is netting with a slip underneath and has a brown belt. http://www.sheinside.com/Light-Blue-Denim-Short-Sleeve-Contrast-Net-Belt-Dress-p-137045-cat-1727.html I'm also loving my RocketDog cream and pastel coloured pumps

Body Shop Body Butters Review

The Body Shop Body Butters Review.

I have to admit, I do have a bit of an obsession with body butters, especially those from The Body Shop.

My current total is 8 tubs, and there is so many more Id like to try, including the new raspberry one which I have just spotted on their website.

Lets go back to the beginning and I'll explain why. I suffer from eczema, which means my skin can get very dry, and sometimes sore, so I gave to be very careful what creams, lotions, perfumes etc that I use. I do get prescription creams but they are very plain and I was trying to find something scented so I could get the benefit of a moisturising cream but still have a subtle nice lingering scent. I've tried various creams before from supermarket versions to pricier brands and I finally found exactly what I needed from The Body Shop.
I've always loved their way of thinking, this is what they say in their about us section.

We believe true beauty comes from the heart. For us, beauty is much more than a pretty face.
We make our products with love and care. We source some of the finest raw ingredients from the four corners of the globe. We harness the skills of artisan farmers and add our expertise to create effective products that are wonderful to use.
We trade fairly so communities benefit as well as you. We never test on animals, and all our products are 100% vegetarian. We campaign with passion on issues close to our heart, because activism is in our blood. We always keep people, animals and the planet in mind. So when you shop with us, you are choosing...

The ones that I have are Mango, Aloe. Pink Grapefruit, Blueberry, Honeymania, Papaya, Passion Fruit, and Vanilla Bliss.

My favourite so far has to be Blueberry. All of them are very moisturising and cause very little irritation on my skin. I try not to use them when I have bad flare ups and rely on prescription products during this time, but when its healed I use the body butters daily. They moisturise very well and it soaks into my skin very quickly without leaving a sticky residue and leave my skin feeling really soft, and the lovely scents mean I don't always have to wear perfume and they last all day. Many times people have asked me what perfumes I wear and are usually surprised when I say its a body cream.

I rarely buy them at full price so end up buying them in their sales, which is why I have so many, and usually use a discount code and cashback websites as well which are a big help

Keep any eye out on their website as they do change the discounts and some are available to use in store.
